Developers are encouraged to form teams of 2-4 members in advance when they register. If you don't have a team just before the hackathon begins, the organizers will try to find you a team, but we strongly encourage everyone to join a team - even if they registered just to observe, they are strongly encouraged to be a participant-observer. A team must have a minimum of two members.

Teams are allowed to pre-work so get ready with your ideas for your app/software. This is a must for those who decide to take on long-term challenges.

Teams can also start working on their app on the day of the hackathon itself should they choose short-term challenges instead.

At the end of the hackathon, all registered teams will need to present their app/software via a live demo. The order of the presentations will be drawn by lots. Each presenter will be given three minutes to explain their entry and two minutes to answer questions during the Q&A.

Teams who did not register cannot do a live demo of their app/software and will not be eligible for any of the prizes. Winning teams are eligible for prizes including funding for prototype development, the latest tech gadgets, internship opportunities, and/or gift certificates if they win the "Best Delivery App" and "Best Farmer Advice App" awards from short-term challenges and "Best Research Optimization App(winner and runner-up)" from long-term challenges.
